Starting dance as an adult: it is not too late
Many adults arrive at their first class believing everyone else will already know what to do. A good beginner class is designed for exactly the opposite: people who are curious, nervous and starting from zero.

You do not need a dancer's background
Coordination, musicality, strength and confidence are learned skills. They do not need to be present before your first class. The teacher's job is to break movement into steps and offer options for different bodies and starting points.
Look for an initiation or beginner level rather than waiting until you feel ready. Feeling ready usually comes after trying, not before.
Choose the atmosphere, not only the dance style
The right class should feel welcoming enough for you to make mistakes. Ask whether complete beginners are expected, how large the group is and whether the teacher adapts exercises.
In Luxembourg's international community, a regular class can also become a reliable social ritual: the same faces, a shared challenge and something enjoyable to discuss after class.

What your first pole class looks like
At Flirty, a first class starts with a proper warm-up, then simple grips, steps and spins, followed by stretching. You are not expected to climb or go upside down on day one.
Our signature 90-minute format gives beginners time to understand the technique without racing the clock. Shorter 60-minute sessions complement that deeper practice.
A useful first goal
Do not make your first goal 'be good at dancing'. Make it 'attend one class and notice how I feel afterwards'. Progress can mean remembering a step, laughing at a mistake or feeling less nervous when you return.
